OVERVIEW |

|
The National Disability League (ND) encompassed a series
of matches spread over several months, beginning from May to August
annually. Teams and athletes compete and gain points. Comparisons of the
total accumulated points of athletes or teams, at the end of the season,
would determine the winners of the league.
Matches were held using round-robin or series fixtures (depending on the
type and nature of disability sports). By providing a prolonged competition
platform, athletes have gained increased competitive exposure, learn from
other athletes of different performance levels and improve analysis skills
by developing and changing strategies to win.
NDL
encouraged a structured training programme of pre-season, season and
post-season training plans for persons with disabilities. NDL position
itself as the center stage for all athletes to pitch their skills among each
other.
This
year, the league will include 18 sports: archery, badminton, basketball,
boccia, bowling, chess, equestrian, goalball, futsal, handcycling, lawn
bowls, powerchair football, powerlifting, sailing, shooting, table-tennis,
wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis.
