The new pictograms of the SDSC National Disability League (NDL) will be
adopting the concepts and designs of the previous Disability Sports 21 while
taking into account the characters of the NDL sports and the experience of
the previous editions of the National Disability Games.
The pictograms will be widely used in the publicity system, in the
decoration in and outside the venues as well as the guides for the
participants and spectators. They will be used in promotion, in advertising
and in marketing, to enrich the public awareness and understanding of
disability sports. Being important components of the image of the NDL games,
the pictograms must reflect the disability sports clearly and in keeping
with the other visual elements of the icons such as the emblem and the color
system, and act as carriers of the concepts of the NDL games. In the
management of Sports Development, NDL will kick start and encourage a
structured training programmes of pre-season, season and post-season
training plans. NDL will position itself as the center stage for all
athletes to pitch their skills against each other.
The pictograms of the National Disability League edition will cover 18
individual sports, namely, archery, badminton, basketball, boccia, bowling,
chess, equestrian, futsal, goalball, handcycling, lawn bowls, powerlifting,
powerchair football, sailing, shooting, table-tennis, wheelchair basketball
and wheelchair tennis.
The colors employed are reminiscent of the colors of the
Singapore Disability Sports Council logo, portraying the association between
the two. As it is with the SDSC logo, the vibrant colour of green in the NDL
icon represent courage, confidence and the indomitable spirit of the
competitors.
